MUAZZAM MAIRAWANI - CHAIRMAN

Muazzam Mairawani, also known as MSM, is a prominent Nigerian entrepreneur and the Chairman of MSM Group, a diversified conglomerate with a strong focus on oil and gas exploration and production. He values teamwork, consistently pulling together skilled experts to tackle challenges and operates by the principles, “once greedy, forever a loser” and “For every successful business there must be great partners.”
Muazzam’s entrepreneurial journey began with his education in business and technology, including a BSc in Business Information Systems from the University of Middlesex, London, and diploma and advanced diploma in Computing from Informatics Academy, Singapore. He first gained recognition by franchising Tangaza mobile pay during Nigeria’s shift towards a cashless policy, demonstrating his foresight in financial inclusion.
Born into one of Africa’s wealthiest families, Muazzam maintains strong political and economic ties within Nigeria and across Africa as a whole. In his business ventures, Muazzam has leveraged his connections to foster strategic partnerships with major industry players. His approach is characterized by a commitment to ethical business practices, strategic alliances, and fostering sustainable development.
Beyond business, Muazzam is a discreet philanthropist, known for his charitable work done privately, reflecting his belief in aiding the needy without seeking public attention. Additionally, Muazzam was recently honored with the prestigious SDGs Peace Ambassador’s award by the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council. TOPE ADEDARA

Tope has over 29 years of business and financial advisory, governance, audit, risks and controls, assurance, assets and liability management, IFRS reporting and technical accounting experience across consumer products, financial services, industrial products, airlines, oil & gas, and other mainstream industries.
Worked with three of the Big 4 firms — PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Nigeria, KPMG LLP Nigeria/UK, and Ernst & Young LLP Chicago — and in the industry in corporate finance and internal controls roles. Some of the Consulting clients served whilst at the Big 4 firms are – Kraft Foods NA, Berkshire Hathaway, Abbott Laboratories PLC, Fannie Mae, AG Siemens NA, United Airlines, Chevron, Zurich Insurance, Freddie Mac, HSBC, Bank of America, Federal Home Loan Bank Chicago (FHLBC), Federal Home Loan Bank Indianapolis (FHLBI), and other Fortune 500 clients.
Tope also served as Chief Audit Executive and Technical Adviser to the President of the largest conglomerate in Africa (DANGOTE Group) supporting the expansion of its business to over 17 countries in Africa, including guiding on the path to having the company listed with the Johannesburg Stock Exchanges (JSE) and London Global Depository Receipt. Worked to institute appropriate governance and oversight for investments of more than $10B, and an annual business revenue averaged $3.5B.
Before joining MSM Group as the first Group Managing Director, and a Director on the board of MSM Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, he was a Director with one of the Top 6 banks in the United States of America (Top 60 largest bank globally), with assets base more than $560 billion. At the bank, Tope was responsible for oversights and governance for Assets & Liability Management (Balance Sheet Management), Capital Markets and Advisory Services, and providing leadership and support to the Board and Executives of the bank.
Tope received a First-Class Honors in Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1992 and an MBA from the University of Lagos Nigeria in 1998. Tope also received a certificate in Global Strategic Management from Harvard University. Tope is a Certified Chartered Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. He is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He is also a global speaker who has presented at various financial and strategic conferences.

HENRY IKEM OBI

Mr. Henry Ikem Obih was appointed to the Board of MSM Oil & Gas on the 16th of October 2024.
Henry Ikem Obi is a highly experienced professional with a distinguished career in the oil and gas industry. He has held senior leadership positions in two of the most influential organizations in Nigeria’s energy sector—ExxonMobil and NNPC.
He is currently serving on the Board of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) and was Group Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer (GED/COO), Downstream, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) until his retirement in 2019.
At ExxonMobil Nigeria, Henry Ikem Obi served as the Managing Director, where he was instrumental in overseeing the company’s operations, focusing on upstream oil exploration, production, and development. Under his leadership, ExxonMobil Nigeria saw significant improvements in operational efficiency, safety, and strategic growth in the country’s energy market.
At the NNPC, he held the role of Group Executive Director, where he played a pivotal role in shaping and executing corporate strategies aimed at expanding Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. His tenure at NNPC was marked by efforts to enhance transparency, increase production capacity, and foster partnerships with international stakeholders.
His recent leadership roles include board positions at Nigeria Gas Marketing Company Limited, Pipelines and Products Marketing Company Limited, NNPC Retail Limited, NIDAS Marine Limited (a subsidiary of NNPC in joint venture with Daewoo Industries South Korea), NIKORMA Limited (a subsidiary of NNPC in joint venture with Hyundai Heavy Industries South Korea) and Duke Oil Company Inc.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and an MBA in Financial Management from the University of Bradford, Yorkshire, England. His professional affiliations include membership of the Institute of Directors; Society for Corporate Governance and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN); Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers; Institute of Credit Administration and Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
Throughout his career, Obi has been recognized for his contributions to both the private and public sectors, helping to navigate the complexities of global energy markets while prioritizing sustainable growth and operational excellence.
He has also attended executive programs in Leadership, Strategy, Finance, Corporate Governance, and Business Management at some of the world’s leading institutions such as Columbia Business School New York, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), IMD Lausanne, Switzerland, London Business School and Lagos Business School, Nigeria.

AHMAD RUFAI SHAKUR

Alhaji Rufai Shakur, Board Member MSM Group. He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of MSM Power Limited.
Ahmad Shakur has over 32 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with very robust service records in the regulatory arm of the sector.
He retired as the Acting Director, Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), before this role, he was the Deputy Director and Head, Corporate Services Division and the most senior officer in the agency. Also, during his illustrious career with the Department of Petroleum Resources, he was at one time the Head, Gas Commercialization Programs. Additionally, he held various positions across the value chain of the DPR from the zonal offices to headquarter.
He has a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering, a Master of Business Administration degree from Ahmadu Bello University, and has also attended numerous management and leadership courses locally and internationally in notable institutions worldwide like the Columbia Business School, New York USA and Wharton Business School, Pennsylvania, USA.

HAJIA AISHA KATAGUN

Mrs. Aisha Farida Katagum is an experienced chartered accountant with over 30 years of expertise in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, predominantly with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). She commenced her tenure with NNPC in 1987, assuming numerous leadership responsibilities and pivotal positions, such as Manager of Sales, Planning and Budget, Executive Director of Storage, Group General Manager of NNPC Shipping, and Group General Manager of Supply Chain Management. In these roles, she was instrumental in strategic oil trading, sales, and logistics, considerably enhancing the nation’s energy security and supply chain efficiency.
Mrs. Katagum possesses competence in corporate procurement, logistics, and cost management. She achieved a 30% reduction in contract renegotiations during the height of COVID-19 and markedly enhanced contracting and procurement processes to conform to worldwide best practices, as well as norms of transparency and accountability.
On August 10, 2021, NNPC prominently elevated Mrs. Katagum to the post of Group Executive Director, Corporate Services (GED, CS), so making her the inaugural female to occupy this role. In her role as GED, she adeptly managed the Human Resources, Engineering & Technical Services, Public Affairs, Information Technology, and Supply Chain Management Divisions, along with the Security and HSE Departments, fostering efficiency and innovation.
She is an alumna of Bayero University Kano and received training at the Akintola Williams Audit Firm. Mrs. Katagum has participated in many international professional development programs, augmenting her role in the corporation’s transformation into a contemporary energy enterprise in accordance with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
Mrs. Katagum has occupied the positions of board chairperson and director in multiple NNPC companies and joint ventures, including: NNPC Retail Ltd., NIDAS Marine Ltd., NIDAS Shipping Services Ltd. (Cyprus), NIDAS Shipping Services Agency (UK) Ltd., NIKOMA Shipping, NNPC Pipeline and Storage Co. Ltd., NNPC Pension Ltd., NNPC HMO Ltd., NNPC Properties Ltd., and NNPC LNG Ltd.

TUNJI OLANIPEKUN

Dr. Tunji Olanipekun was appointed to the Board of MSM Oil & Gas on the 16th of October 2024.
Dr. Tunji is a visionary, global leader with 33years experience, more than half in practical leadership positions. In his strong quest for excellence over the years, he has built people, created value through innovative teams & systems, demonstrated creativity and delivered superior value in all the sectors of the Nigerian economy namely Financial Services, Banking, Manufacturing & Oil and Gas.
Dr. Tunji has significant knowledge and valuable experience in Energy, Oil & Gas industry covering the downstream, mid-stream and upstream sub-sectors. He has an extensive network of accomplished professionals across these industries.
He started his career with Price Waterhouse, Lagos (now PricewaterhouseCoopers, Lagos), Zenith Bank plc. Lagos, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Ghana, Johannesburg and also had a stint with Cradle Solutions Inc., Houston, Texas, USA and was also the Company’s sole African Representative based in Lagos.
Dr. Tunji has been Team Lead in accounting, audit, taxation, information and communication technology, commercial banking, business developments, corporate finance and restructuring, Risk Management & Internal Control, Financial services, Transaction banking & structuring, public-private partnership, Project & Risk management projects.
Dr. Tunji has a proven ability to deliver impeccable value and inclusive growth whilst employing intellect, world – class technical skills and best practices, without compromising integrity.
Dr. Tunji received First Class Honors in Biological Sciences, M.Sc in Corporate Governance, and a Ph.D in Business Administration-specialization, International Business. He holds several certifications, and he is a consummate Professional, a Chartered Accountant & Consultant, Chartered Tax expert.

ALHAJI SIRAJO SALISU

Dr. Sirajo Salisu, Board Member MSM Group. He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of MSM Cement Limited.
He has over 33 years of expertise in banking. He is the former Managing Director/CEO Arab Gambian Islamic Bank (AGIB) in the Republic of The Gambia, Former Managing Director of Jaiz Bank Plc. from 2022- 2023, after which he joined MSM Group.
He is currently transitioning from his role with MSM Group to his newly appointed role of the Managing Director of Summit Bank Limited.
Dr. Sirajo holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, along with multiple degrees in Economics and Islamic Finance, and is an esteemed member of professional banking bodies in Nigeria.

NAVEEN SIROHI

Mr. Naveen Sirohi is a seasoned business leader with over 27 years of experience across FMCG, bulk commodities, agrochemicals, and customer services. As Chief Operating Officer of MSM Group, he is known for his strategic vision and ability to scale businesses through partnerships and growth strategies. Mr. Sirohi has successfully opened new markets and expanded global brand presence, notably leading Indorama Eleme Fertilizers’ sales efforts across Africa, the Americas, Europe, and India. With expertise in strategic planning and market research, he has driven results in dynamic environments, consistently achieving business objectives and inspiring high-performing teams at MSM Group.
