OML 98, onshore

Turning existing data into new barrels.

MSM reports that within six months of its involvement, re-interpretation of existing subsurface data on OML 98 identified an additional 126 million barrels, lifting the asset from 118 million to 244 million barrels.

The approach, re-working data already acquired rather than shooting new seismic, is faster and cheaper, and supports Nigeria’s goal of raising national crude output.
